Ron is survived by his loving wife, Lisa, children; James (Yasmin) Gardner, Jason Foos, Devin (Lonn) Sparks, Michael Sparks, grandchildren; Tanner Haver, Cameron Haver, Shelby Gardner, mother; Marian Foos, brothers; Lyle Foos, Tim Foos and sister in law; Linda Foos. He is preceded in death by his father; Willard H. Foos.
He was a Christian man who attended the Abundant Life Church.
Ron worked for the Denver Sheriff Department for 33 years. He retired in 2009 as Division Chief. He was a member of the Denver Sheriff Department Posse, Weld County Sheriff Posse and Colorado Rodeo and Gymkhana Club.
His hobbies included horseback riding, his hobby farm (horse, dairy goats, chickens, turkeys, garden beds), golfing, hunting, sports, swimming, homemade crafts and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Ron's family request memorial donations be sent to: Payton Cavalli College Fund C/O Bank of Colorado 312 Collins Street Eaton, Colorado 80615. Payton is 8 years old with cerebal palsy and made home visits to Ron giving him "P.T." (physical therapy) after his knee replacement surgery. She worked Ron relentlessly, sharing and teaching him the exercises that she does on a daily basis. Payton was a delightful inspiration to Ron. Payton's call was one of the last that he received before he went into his last sleep. Ron smiled with such happiness as she ended her call telling him "I love you Ron".
Ron would very much like to go out of this world doing good deeds as he did when he was in this world. He donated his corneas - someone will have the gift to see the world through Ron's eyes!
He will be greatly missed.
