Bob/Robert Richard Typher was born on January 21st, 1938, in Denver, Colorado to Fred and Hattie Typher. His family, including his five siblings, Lawrence, Donald, Kenneth, Billy and Marilyn, lived in the Denver area. Bob attended East High School, and showed initiative at a young age, mowing lawns for the schools to start saving money. Bob met the love of his life, Ronnie/Veronica Hausner at Cheyenne Frontier Days, and they married on August 29, 1959, in Delta, Colorado. Bob and Ronnie raised their four children, Rene, Rob, Rick, and Susie, at their home in Westminster, CO. Bob was in the Naval Reserves, and managed the shoe department at Cottrell’s Mens Store for almost 40 years, working six days a week, and riding the bus downtown. Bob and Ronnie loved to polka dance, spending most Sunday evenings at the Colorado Polka Club with friends, and even hosting their children with their friends, inspiring the next generation of dancers. Bob coached both of his sons in baseball, and was himself a very good player. Bob’s favorite activities included spending time at their mountain cabin, fly fishing with his sons and grandsons, playing horseshoes, and also bingo - he enjoyed the simple life, making memories with family. He also enjoyed bowling in a league with his brothers, nephews and friends. Bob and Ronnie devoted much of their lives attending events for their children, and six grandchildren, including sporting and school recognition events, and even traveling to graduations out of state. Thankfully, Bob had the opportunity to meet his first great grandchildren, Leo and Ellie, who brought huge smiles to his face. Later in life, Bob became the most selfless caregiver for his “angel” of a wife, Ronnie, who battled Alzheimers. No one could have cared for Ronnie any better, and Bob never, ever complained. Anyone who knew Bob was greeted with a hearty belly laugh, a tight bear hug and bright smile. We can all honor Bob’s memory by practicing compassionate caregiving to someone in your life who needs special tender loving care, and then smiling up toward heaven to see the twinkle in his eye.
