Richard was born on December 17th, 1948, to Donald L. and Velma L. (McFee) White in Creston, IA. After graduating from Creston High School in 1967 he joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1967 to 1971. During his time in the Air Force, he served in Vietnam.
Richard worked several different jobs over the years including driving truck, construction work and at Napa in Creston, IA for several years.
Richard enjoyed working on his 1967 Chevy Chevelle, watching drag racing, westerns and oldies but most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughters and his great granddaughter.
Richard is survived by his daughter Gia (Jerry) Steely, granddaughter Ashton (Tim Swank) Steely, Morgan Steely, great granddaughter Alexa Steely, son Troy White, grandson James White, sister Patty Crouse, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Velma, brothers Francis L. White, Franklin B. White and Steven A. White.
