Richard was born to Tony and Hazel Johnson Skupa November 25, 1928 in Red Cloud, Nebraska. At the age of eight, he moved from Nebraska to Colorado where he lived the remainder of his life.
In 1950, he married the love of his life, Eula Mae Paddock. Their union produced three daughters—Marta Kibble (Bob), Barbara Weigel (Mark), and Judy Skupa (Alan Hafer), ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Richard joined the Air Force at the age of 18 and served four years. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad for over thirty years, retiring in 1987.
Richard has been a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and the Ken Caryl Baptist Church, serving his Lord and community in many capacities over the years.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Tony, mother Hazel, brother Doyle, sister Lorraine, and daughter Marta. Richard’s final resting place will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
