Sonny is survived by his children: Natalie Nevarez, Christopher (Roxanne) Ornelas, Milicia (Ben) Cordova, Melody Olson (Joe Hood), Michael Ornelas, Pete (Rose) Ornelas and Bernadette Ornelas (Michael Johnson); grandchildren: Craig, Virginia, Christopher, Joseph, Renita, Rachael, Heather, Vanessa, Antoinette, Anthony, Jeremiah, Vance, Jared, Dillon, Joseph, Nicholas, Isabella, Gabriella, Blayz, Mariah, David, Kristen, Katrina, Illiana, Angelina, Destiney, Bryana, Brandon and Derek; great grandchildren: Jealocy, Enfinity, Craig, Damien, Daysiah, Daniel, Devlin, CJ, Khiree, Sonny, Lilliani, Annalei, Ezekial, Diavian, Emmanuel, Aviana, Analeah, Aliciana, Kamerin, Kash, Christian, Neraeh, Michael, Adam, Amerikahl, Adias, Jesias, Jeikob, Jenaiyah, Nehemiah and Julius and brother Vincent Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Manuela Ornelas, siblings: Rudolph “Oak” Ornelas, Frank “Kiko” Ornelas, Elaine “Lena” Martinez, Carol Valdez and grandchildren Jesse Ornelas and Angel Ornelas.

Visitation will be from 6-7pm on Tues. Sept.19, 2017 with Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am , Sept. 20, 2017. Both of these services will be held at Shrine of St. Anne's Catholic Church, 7555 Grant Place, Arvada, CO 80002. Sonny will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, Brighton, CO.
