Peggy Francis

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 19, 1935 to Clarke and Hope Wiseman. She was the oldest of her siblings; John, Jim and Gloey, who all preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters; Liana Fischer (Steve) and Jenene Novotny (J.), and her son Kedric Francis (Elaina). It was her tremendous joy to have six grandchildren; Ryan and Jalene Novotny and Otis, Rosey, Mabel, and Flynn Francis.

Peggy graduated from high school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and then she made her way to California, where she was married for a time to Lee Francis. They had three children between 1958 and 1963 and for several years they enjoyed the California life with Lee’s family close by. When the marriage ended, she moved with her three small children to Colorado, where her family lived.

That was the beginning of her life as a fiercely independent, strong, wonderful, single-mother and provider. She was hard working and lucky enough to work for a small, family owned, manufacturing company for 30 years. She began as secretary in 1967, and retired as vice president in 1997, at Systems Engineering. She and the owner have stayed in touch all of these years. This work success allowed her to make a good, stable and comfortable upbringing for her children. She purchased her first home in Arvada in 1977. Her strength could be intimidating, and she liked it that way!

She always loved her pets. She always had dogs and cats that she loved and cared for like her children.

In retirement, she loved to garden, was a member and treasurer for a garden club, and her own flowers were impressive and envied. She enjoyed traveling to many countries and destinations. She was able to watch her older grandchildren compete in many, many sporting events here in Colorado. She hated that her recent health made it too difficult to travel and visit and get to spend more time with her son & his younger children in California, and her daughter in Arizona.
