Patricia A. Bowles was born on June 28, 1937, in Denver, Colorado, to Victor and Betty Siverts. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1955. She started her college education at Colorado State University (CSU) where she met her soul mate and life partner, Lloyd Bowles, at a square dance. After getting engaged, Pat joined Lloyd in Hawaii where he was serving in the Navy. They continued to square dance and were married in 1958. Upon Lloyd’s military discharge, they returned to Colorado and had four beautiful children. Pat completed her education at University of Colorado with a master’s degree in Education and taught English as a Second Language at several elementary schools in Jefferson County.
Pat was a talented seamstress and made both beautiful and practical items. Her family and friends were given many fabulous quilts, wall hangings, placemats, Christmas ornaments, and have benefited in many ways from her amazing sewing talents.
Pat and Lloyd enjoyed square and round dancing together for 65 years. They were active members on exhibition teams, in local clubs, and participated in many state and national square dance organizations. Pat also loved gardening, camping, RV’ing, and spending time at her mountain cabin.
Most of all Pat loved her family. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; her children: Arlene (Jim), Linda, Karen (Mark), and Ken (Shelly); her grandchildren: Carolyn (Seth), Kevin (Claire), Sammie (Casey), Dani, Lindsey (Keith), Laura (Philip), Kalvin (Brittany), and Stacia; and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Eric (Gerri) and sister, Roberta.
Pat was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrous (IPF) in 2010 and surpassed all life expectancies. With her advanced IPF, she could not recover from a bout of Norovirus in early March. Pat passed away on March 19, 2025.
Pat’s Celebration of Life will be held on April 21st, 2025, at 10 am at the Crown Hill Pavilion, 7777 W 29th Ave. in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Live streaming will be available.
Pat asked that memorial donations be made to National Jewish Health.
