I knew Morgan in the 1960’s when I was married to his brother Gil. Morgan was such an optimistic, fun loving and creative person. I remember the shop he had on Pearl Street in Boulder.  Gil and I had The Raggedy Ann Clothes Emporium, a consignment department store. Morgan told me about seal coats at Goodwill. I bought some to sell at Raggedy Ann. He used some to cover chaises. He had some very 1960’s furniture in his shop! So creative! May his memory forever be a blessing.

Morgan was a fun loving, funny, great person. I was his brother Gil’s second wife. I met Morgan in 1964 in Boulder. I have fond memories of our outings , going to the Trident  theater in Denver, skiing and dancing. Morgan was a great dancer. Gil & Morgan were amazing skiers! I remember Morgan’s mom’s Nite’s Rest Motel in Steamboat. When Gil & I had The Raggedy Ann Clothes Emporium in Boulder, Morgan opened a funky furniture store. He and I bought seal coats at Goodwill. I sold some. He upholstered furniture with them. May his memory forever be a blessing. 

I met Morgan in 1961, we were Ph.D. students in the same department in Boulder. When I moved to Canada, I lost sight of him. I'm sorry to learn he's no longer with us. Henri

~ The Mirror ~

When people get crass.
  because you have class,
  and your class gives them fear,
  and they want you to fight.
Just look in this mirror,
  and you'll be just right.

This has remained my strength throughout the years … always take the road less traveled, without fear, with Christ.  The Christmas after my step-father passed (1969), Uncle Morgan asked me what I wanted for Christmas …. he owned an antique store and I had always admired this rooster mirror that he had hung up for sale … that Christmas he wrote the above poem and gifted it to me at my Grandmother's (then living in Ft. Morgan).    

He always praised me in my motherhood and advised that if I dedicated myself to my career as much as motherhood there would be no bounds.  Once he asked me to join him in his company … I've much regretted not grasping that opportunity … motherhood, however, was always primary.  

I just learned of his passing searching family ~ ancestory.  So wish I had known sooner.
