Mary was born December 3, 1920 in OK. She was the fourth child of five children born to Charles and Leona Tipton. Her mother died when Mary was four. She was raised by her father. She grew up on farm near Newtown, MO. As a young woman, Mary worked in Milwaukee, WI at various jobs that included being a "Rosie the Rivitor" and training as a butcher. During a visit home she met Vane Watson from Harris, MO and a romance blossemed. Vane joined the Army and proposed marriage. Mary moved to San Francisco and shared an appartment with Vane's twin sisters. They married on August 24, 1943 in San Francisco. Shortly after they were married Vane was sent to the south Pacific. Mary worked as a butcher while Vane was in the war . After Vane's return they moved back to MO where they worked as farmers. To their union four children were born; Colleen Kay, Carolyn Mae, Karen Sue, and Thomas Edward. Karen only survived one day. Mary and Vane had four grand children, Shawn {Jonie} and Dax {Kimberly} Myers, and Robin Inagaki Wilson and Jill {David Smith} Inagaki. Additionally she had eight great grandchildren, Dax Myers {Laura Brooks} , Hanna Myers Jones {Sean} , Lauren Myers, Mary Myers, Cassidy Wilson, Marisa Myers, Jaxson and Lily Smith. Vane and Mary moved their family to Colorado in 1959. Mary worked as a buccher until she went to work for Martin Maretta. Mary retired from Martin Maretta after 23 of service. Mary worked in the print shop and many people knew her as " Repo Mary". After her retirement, Mary and Vane took a three month camping trip to include Alaska. They moved to Phoenix in the mid eighties. Vane passed away September 23, 2001. Mary returned to CO a few years after his death to be near her children and grandchildren where she remained until her death November 11, 2020. Mary is proceeded in death by her parents, Charles and Leona Tipton, Her step mother Flo Tipton, her sister Imogene Holt, her brothers, Charles, Lester and Kenneth Tipton, her husband Vane and daughter Karen. Mary is suvived by her children, Colleen, Carolyn and Tom as well as her son in laws, Karl Inagaki and Charles Fuentes, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary will be intured at Fort Logan with Vane. No services are being held at this time.
