On September 21, 2024, Margaret White, 93, affectionately known as Peggy, passed away surrounded by her California family members at the home of her daughter, Yolanda. She had fought a diligent fight with chronic kidney disease.
Peggy was born on May 10, 1931, in Farmington, Michigan, to Frank and Margaret (Palmer) LaHaye. She is preceded in death by her older brother Tim, younger brother Dick, and two infant daughters.
After college she married Lloyd Gaynor in Michigan. They had four children; Bill, Calvin, and two daughters who died at birth. They later divorced.
After being a single mother for a few years, she met and married Vern White. They had two daughters: Yolanda and Dawn. Shortly after Yolanda’s birth, Vern and Peggy moved the children to Denver, CO where Dawn was born. After being in Denver for many years, Vern and Peggy moved to Kremmling,CO. Peggy had a gift for sign language and shared her gift interpreting sermon’s at her church, as well as at a Junior College in Denver, and in the school district in Kremmling. Peggy and Vern later divorced and Peggy moved to Lakewood, CO.
While living in Lakewood, the travel bug got her. She experienced journeys to Kenya, Africa, China, and to the Holy Lands.
In 2012, Peggy made the big decision to move to California to be closer to Yolanda’s family. She lived independently until her passing.
She is survived by; son Calvin (Nadene) Gaynor; daughter Yolanda (Steven) Prentice; and daughter Dawn Serougi. Grandchildren, Jeremiah (Tara) Gaynor; Gloria (Tim) Trosper; Malia (Chase) Redkey; Chris (Aysha) Prentice; Meghan (Keith) Rollins; Jeffrey (Katya) Prentice; Annie Prentice; Janae (Corey) Swartz; Amanda (Garrett) Buckmaster; Brett (Angie) Hoskins, along with 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by extended family and a host of friends.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on October 25, 2024 from 11 to noon at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave in Wheat Ridge, CO, immediately followed by graveside services. The graveside service will be officiated by longtime family friend, Chuck Crabtree.
