Lucy Santistevan

Lucy Santistevan, 85, passed away gently leaving the loving arms of her family on June 1st, 2018. She was born in Mercedes, Texas on February 6th, 1933 to Cosme and Juanita Garcia. Lucy married Belarmino John Santistevan on June 16th, 1951 at the Holy Ghost Church in Denver, Colorado. Lucy and Belarmino had six children, Gloria, John, Jim, Lisa, Mark, and Tony.

She worked many years in retail as a customer service representative, but also loved to cook and had a small catering business with the family. Lucy loved her family, and also loved her Broncos, she was a huge fan. She also liked to hear those bells and coins run out of the slots and traveled with her son for their shared birthday trips to Las Vegas.

Lucy is survived by her sister, Tina Mendez; her brothers, Sabino, David, and Alex Garcia; children, Gloria Ledezma, John Michael Santistevan, Jim Santistevan, Lisa Gomez, Mark Santistevan, Tony Santistevan;

her grandchildren, Lucianna Ledezma, Monica Santistevan, Danny Santistevan, Emily Gomez, Dominic Gomez, Marky Santistevan, Moriah Garduno, Phoenix Rodriguez, Angelo Santistevan, Zaniah Santistevan; and great grandchildren, Moses Gonzales, Nehemiah Gonzales, Mariah Valdez, Chris Santistevan, Ben Santistevan, Diego Santistevan, Anaiah Santistevan, Halley Santistevan, Olivia Garduno, Abrianna Gomez-Herrera.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cosme and Juanita, her husband, Belarmino, as well as Chon Garcia, Marta Canales, Rebecca Goad, and Pauline Equia.

Lucy will be missed every day by her loving family and many friends, but they also find comfort in knowing that she is with Belarmino. Please join the family to celebrate the life of Lucy and share some wonderful memories and stories at the Memorial Service listed below. Afterwards, join the family at the Knights of Columbus located at 1555 Grant St. in Denver, Colorado for a reception.
