Dear Bonnie and family,

I met Les in the 80's when he and L. Rice was hired by Brighton.  He usually wore a big cowboy hat in those days.  Likely influenced by you Bonnie.  He always had a quick smile and such a warm personality.

I, along with many others, were "mentored" by Les.  He was a big influence on my water career.  His intelligence, kindness, and patience were conveyed in everything he did.   Much the water guru, perhaps his secondary occupation would have been teacher.  He himself, when it came to water, was always interested in seeking more knowledge.

Even more than his water career, Les was all about his family.  Although I have never met you, I know about you through him.  He love for his family came before anything.  I think it's true that at the end of the day, what matters most is not your career, or how you made your living, but of the memories your loved ones hold in their hearts of you is the legacy we leave behind.
