June Agnes Scott was born on June 5,1938, to Archie (Earl) Mitchell and Hilda Brand in Limon, Colorado. Her parents moved to Aurora, Colorado and later June grew up in the Barnum area of Denver with her 3 sisters She went to Barnum Elementary School and West High School. She married Harry Scott and divorced him and then she was with Donald Sjulstad for 30 years. She took care of him until his passing in 1993. She worked for 33 years and retired from Gates Rubber Company. She bought a house where she raised her 4 children and took care of her grandchildren. June loved to take care of people and would take in relatives when they needed a place to stay, she took care of the neighborhood children when they needed a meal or a place to stay. During Thanksgiving and Christmas she would make a lot of food and take the leftovers to the neighborhood bar to feed people who did not have a place to go or did not have family. June would always give to others who were needy even if she had to go without. She loved to cook, gamble, have a good time and did not hold back on her opinions. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and Cornerstone Baptist Church and loved the members as her own family. Even when her dementia got severe she would ask about Moose or church members. June had 3 goals in life - to own a home, retire young which she did at 52 years old and die of old age in her sleep. She accomplished all three of her life goals.
June is preceded in death by Donald Sjulstad, her daughters Linda Rodriguez, Donna Sjulstad, and her son Carl Scott. She is survived by her daughter Beth Sjulstad-Wolter, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
