Joshua Lee Caldwell did not want to enter this cold world as his Mother had to go through many hours of labor before Josh poked his head out and took his first breath. Once Josh acclimated himself to the outside world, there was no stopping him. From his amazing story tales to his wonder flowing blonde hair. That’s right, he was blonde in his early years. Then he began to mature his hair color, which changed to blonde, then brown, then black. As he grew into his teens, he did have a head of hair. When putting in an application at a video store the owner would not hire him because his hair was too long. If Josh was a superhero, his name would be “Hairman” which would kick tail.
Josh worked in a couple places during his teen years and as he became more mobile, he was increasingly worried about his attire. Only the best would suffice and he learned to appreciate the finer things and strut his stuff. Especially for one of his greatest roles in life, as drummer in a band where he showed off his love of 80’s rock music. This is where he caught the eyes of the love of his life, Missy. They were married in a beautiful mountain chapel and he fathered a wonderful Son, Nicholas, and a beautiful Daughter, Bailey.
Josh had the best of all worlds. Along with all of those wonderful things came great responsibility. He owned his own business, he was a warehouse supervisor, and he really knew how to lead people. From raising a family to guiding those that worked for him, it took a toll. Josh was known to burn the candle on both ends. However, he kept his family together and kept working as hard as he could.
Josh’s inner circle of family and friends, were so loving and caring. In fact, you are here celebrating the “Life of Joshua Lee Caldwell”. The times he spent with them were special to him. He liked to go on vacations with his family to the mountains (and a priceless trip to Disney), passionately cried out for the Broncos and stood by them through thick and thin, enjoyed fantasy football, loved comedy shows and karaoke with friends, and was known to listen to music a little too loud and shared songs no one had ever heard. Music was in his veins, but more importantly so was his family. He would always goof around, tease them, support them, not take things too seriously, and let them know they were loved with his great hugs. His animals like his kids were his pride and joy and he wasn’t above getting on the floor to play with them.
Although a tragic fall down the stairs took his life, he was surrounded by the love of his closest family during his last breath. Our Lord is building his Army with our best. He will be looking down at all of us whispering in our ears, “You guys are such a bunch Knuckleheads.” We, the ones left behind are the ones that need to remember the elements of loss and deal with this the best way we can and with the knowledge that Josh is now without pain and stress. He is in our hearts forever and in our thoughts and dreams. He was a great Son, Husband, Father, and Man and will be missed beyond measure.
