Joseph Edmund Hajny, was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 19, 1948. He passed away in Denver, Colorado on November 17, 2022, after courageously battling cancer for the past ten years. Throughout his illness he maintained a positive attitude and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.
He was the loving spouse of Pamela J. Hajny, sharing over 40 years of marriage. In 1970,before they knew each other, both moved to Colorado and shortly after they met they became impossible to separate. Their mutual love of adventure and the outdoors made Colorado the perfect home.
Their adventures included cross-country and backcountry skiing, snow-shoeing, downhill skiing,technical rock climbing, extended backpack trips, and cross-country road trips to our nation's National Parks. A love of photography ensured that all their trips were well documented for future generations of the family to enjoy.
He served in the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged on March 10,1975. Following his Army service he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. His career as a pharmaceutical representative spanned 25 years serving various communities and medical practices in Colorado.
He is survived by his two daughters, Antonia Sassolino and Emily Martini, both live in Colorado with their spouses Brian Sassolino and Shawn Martini. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Bradley, Jonathan, andVictoria Sassolino, and his youngest grandchild Thomas Martini.
Joseph Edmund Hajny's memorial service will be held, Saturday, December 3, 10:00 AM at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 1401 E. Dry Creek Road, Littleton, Colorado. His interment next to Pamela will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date with immediate family.
