On Thursday, December 3, 2020, John Edward (Jack) German, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 84. Jack was born December 14, 1935 in Bozeman, Montana and immediately adopted by Wilbur and Catherine (Miller) German. After graduating from Butte (MT) High in 1955 Jack joined the Marine Reserves. Later, he attended Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. and Colorado State College (now known as University of Northern Colorado) in Greeley, CO. He married Bonita Hanson on May 26, 1962. They had two sons, William (Bill) and Paul. Jack worked as a systems analyst for Public Service Company of Colorado until his retirement in 1995.
Jack enjoyed many pursuits including the Episcopal and Anglican Church, Colorado Rockies baseball, postmark collecting and postal history, and travel. He was highly involved in a number of organizations: The Brotherhood of Saint Andrew, where he was Regional Vice President; Public Service Employees (Xcel Energy) Pioneers; Post Mark Collectors Club; Colorado Postal Historical Society; Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library; and Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur; mother, Catherine, and step-mother, Marge (Parker). He is survived by his wife of 58-years, Bonita; sons Bill & Paul; two grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth; two sisters, Margaret and Ann; nieces and nephews and several recently discovered family members.
Memorials in John's name are suggested to benefit The Brotherhood of St. Andrew or JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
