Joe was born in Denver, Colorado on September 28, 1940, to Joe M. Perez and Herlinda Muniz.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alicia Perez, together they raised Alicia’s last daughter, Nuvia Baeza.
Joe was also married to Jeannie Perez (deceased) and helped raise her daughters Betsy and Teresa Ware.
He and Rosie Perez (deceased), his first wife, share three children: Michelle Perez-Robles (DeJon), Jimmy Perez, and Lisa Guerro (Brian).
Joe is preceded in death by brother, Ezekiel Perez and sister, Annie Medeles. He is survived by brothers and sisters, Daniel Perez, Frank Perez (Bernarda), Alex Perez (Louise/Dolly), Priscilla (Percy) Rojas (Manual), Loretta Martinez (William Sr.), Rebecca (Becky) Wecker (Keith), David Perez, Gabriel (Teresa)Perez, Sonia Perez, Dave Medeles, Tony Medeles, and Rose Valenzuela.
He is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Erica Gomez, Devian Aguilar, Jesi Robles, Jimmy Roberts-Perez, Erica Wence, Karley Gallegos, Monica Garcia, Mario Garcia, Sarah Pena, Isabella Pena, Gerius Santoya, Sarita Roberts, Raelene Roberts, Israel Roberts-Perez, Isaiah Perez, Aliviana Franqui, Mariah Lozado, Roberto Rodriguez, Serio Baquera, Alejandro Baquera, Jaiden Wence, Jeremyah Wence, Josiah Wence, Alicia Wence, Ezra Alvarez-Perez, Xavier Alderete-Roberts, and by stepchildren, Anna Pena (Joel), Jose Mario Garcia, Cesar Garcia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a simple man who loved sports, collecting coins – he was an avid reader, a great storyteller with a famed sense of humor, and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Joe lived life to the fullest and loved his family and friends with his whole heart.
A memorial for Joe Perez, Jr. will be held at Olinger Crown Hill on Wednesday, June 22 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
