With profound sadness we announce the passing of Joan Decker, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend on July 24, 2020 in Pensacola Florida. It was sudden and peaceful as she passed with hospice surrounded by loving family by her side. She is now dancing in heaven with our Lord Savior Jesus Christ.
Much loved mother of son Randall Decker and wife Debra of San Tan Valley Arizona, her son Danial Decker of Olympia Washington, and daughter Victoria and her husband Grant Miller. Her daughter Julie and her husband Javier Perez of Castle Rock Colorado.
Joan loved and treasured every minute with her nine Grandchildren. Matthew Decker, David Decker and his wife Stacy, Melissa Lopez, Zachary Decker and his wife Katie Colasono, Grant Miller III, Xavier, Alexis, Eliana, and Avela Perez. Joan embraced every moment with her Great GrandChildren Samatha Pinkston, Lily Lopez, Natalie and Peter Decker.
Joan was born October 5, 1934 in Chadron,Nebraska to Robert and Genevive Clark. The Lord Jesus has always been the center of her life.
Joan mastered real estate investing wisely throughout her life. Acquiring her knowledge by traveling with her father in the early 1940’s and 1950’s flipping homes from California, Olympia, Wyoming and Colorado.
Our Mom raised four children as a single mom while she attended Metropolitan State College, graduating Bachelors, receiving her teaching certificate, Child Psychology and Master in Sociology.
She blessed many lives as a teacher of 3rd and 4th grade for 20 years at Green Gables Elementary in Jefferson County Colorado.
Joan was diagnosed with Myeloid Leukemia at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in 2005. She was one of few patients to have lived 15 years after diagnosis. She was always surrounded with love of family and friends.
Her life was a living example of one of her favorite bible verses, Ephesians 4:32, NIV: Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you...
