Dr. Jay Bryce Tracy

June 21, 1951- December 4, 2024

Dr. Jay Bryce Tracy, 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Thornton, Colorado, on December 4, 2024. Born in Ft. Collins, Colorado, on June 21, 1951, he was the son of Dr. Donald Bryce Tracy and Irene Tracy. Jay grew up on Chuck-O-Luck Farms, where he developed a lifelong passion for raising and showing registered Shorthorn cattle, and was actively involved in 4H.

He graduated from Fairview High School in 1969 and went on to pursue higher education, earning degrees in Agricultural Finance and Business from Lamar Community College, followed by degree in Animal Science with minors in Chemistry and Biology from Colorado State University. He then obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University.

Jay married the love of his life Carolyn Sue Soward on June 19, 1976. Together, they had three children: Jayme (Ryan Hubbart), Katie (Evan Gartner), and Michael (Sarah). Jay was deeply proud of his children and was blessed with six grandchildren and another on the way. In 1997, Jay fulfilled his dream of establishing Eastlake Veterinary Services, a highly successful veterinary clinic. Known for his compassion and skill, he was regarded as a "whisperer" to the animals in his care and spent years breeding English Bulldogs, an endeavor he deeply enjoyed.

A man of great faith, Jay devoted many hours to the study of scripture. He was known for his tireless work ethic, integrity, and loyalty. Above all, his family was his greatest joy and he cherished watching his children and grandchildren thrive.

Dr. Tracy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn; children Jayme Hubbart, Katie Gartner, and Michael Tracy; his grandchildren; Hailey Hubbart, Isabelle Hubbart, Brooks Hubbart, Judah Gartner, Ruby Gartner, and Sage Tracy: siblings Jennifer Bailey and Mark Tracy. His legacy of dedication, love and faith will be cherished forever.
