Dearest Janet,

I still can’t believe you are gone. That I won't see your wonderful smile again.  

When the phone rings, I smile thinking I will hear your voice saying “Hi my favorite sister.” But it’s not you…and my heart breaks.

I hear someone laugh in the next room and I think it’s you and I wonder if it’s Ben teasing you again.  But it’s not you…and my heart breaks.

The family is gathering and we are planning where everyone will stay.  I think to myself, I’ll have to make sure we save a place for Janet to sleep. But you won’t need a bed…and my heart breaks.

I wanted one more day together. One more laugh together, one more chance to remind you that I love you. 

I don’t want to let you go. My heart is breaking.

I love you, Janet. Did I tell you that enough? Did I tell you that I admire you? That you made me laugh? That I ache at your absence in ways I can’t even understand?

I want you to know that your life had meaning. I know you struggled, but I also know that God had a firm grip on you. I can’t wait until we are together in heaven and once again I hear you say, “Hi my favorite sister!”

I think you were quite possibly the happiest person I have ever met in my entire life.  I have never seen you angry...you were always joking and laughing.  I have nothing but fond memories of you and I feel blessed to have had you in my life.  Maybe I should have taken some lessons from you on how to live simply and be happy because you definitely mastered it. You left your mark on this world and it was a beautiful one. I will miss you Aunt Janet....

Dear Janet,
You were the one with the biggest smile, biggest hugs and happiest outlook.  You enjoyed our family get togethers more than any of us, I believe.  
You will be missed by each of us in our own way as we remember you through the years.  You will not be forgotten, Janet.  Your life was too short, but you shared your love for everyone all the way to the end.

Janet..You dear sweet soul. While God and his Angels are celebrating you coming home,we are mourning our loss of your never ending smile, your laughter, and the joy of just knowing you. Janet, It seems like just a short time ago when we knew you as your Dad and Mom's very young daughter. Carolyn and I hope and pray you are now, and will forever be happy in heaven. And that happy memories of you comfort your family and friends here on earth.

   I was given the honor of calling Gina, Bobby, Robin, Patti and many family members and telling them that you had gone to heaven.  To hear how much you were loved- I already knew- but Janet you touched so many people- DEEPLY  but yet so simply. You loved with no expectations. Even the way you "graduated" showed your love and consideration for your family. I love you and there is no one else I would rather get lost with in Denver.
