Jim graduated class of '57 from Boardman High School in Boardman, Ohio. He attended Kent State University and later served in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Mary Beth Wylam on December 12, 1964. He worked for the People's Bank in Poland, Ohio before moving his family to Denver, Colorado in the summer of 1980. In Colorado, he was the sole proprietor of Front Range Colorback, an auto detailing company and later worked as a computer operator for Electrical Data Systems (EDS). He loved his family, his church, his God, his backyard, his pets and automobiles.
He leaves his wife Mary Beth, son Todd, daughter Amy (Rick) Pike and granddaughter Madisen. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Blake and Gail Hopkins.
