After high school graduation he headed west to work for The Holland Furnace Company in Denver. While there he met and married Darline shortly after her high school graduation. Jack continued working for Holland Furnace until he was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. he became a First Cook and a Sergeant. After discharge in January, 1954, he worked in Detroit, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio. He joined the Carpenter's Union before moving back to the Denver area in 1965
He was elected Business Agent, Financial Secretary for Carpenter's Union #1396 of Golden in 1971 and Continued in the position until his retirement in 1989. During this time he saw the completion of the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70 and many other large construction jobs

While his three children: David, Jeanine and Douglas were growing up he served in Protestant Sunday Schools and was a Boy Scout leader for David and Doug. Together they enjoyed many weekend camp outs in the Colorado Rockies. He was an Artist, an avid gardener, and never lost his love of working with wood.
He and Darline converted to Catholicism at Easter, 1989. He was attended Spirit of Christ since January 1990, and has been active in carious activities. He will be remembered and missed for his great enthusiasm for life and love of God and His Word.
Funeral service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, 7400 W. 80th Ave, Arvada, CO 80033; with visitation to be held 1 hour prior to services.
