Gloria was born on August 26, 1935 in Oak Creek, Colorado. She soon moved with her family to the North Denver area where she attended Bryant Webster Elementary, Horseman Junior High School and North High school where she Graduated. While attending school, she worked at Elitch Gardens Amusement Park and in her senior year was hired on with Mountain Bell where she worked in the file room.
Gloria married Ivan Lee Burton on October 19,1957 and they bought their first home on Yuma street in South Denver. In this home they were blessed with three wonderful daughters; Roxanne, Terri and Lori. They relocated to the Englewood area in 1966 to a larger home on Huron Street where they raised their family and were then blessed with 5 grand children and lived for 33 wonderful years.
Gloria continued working for Mountain Bell/US West for her entire career working in many different capacities and finally retired in 1992 after 31 years of service.
Gloria first and foremost loved her Husband of 55 years. They enjoyed their life together sharing their passion for dancing, fishing, traveling and camping in one of their "2nd homes" their camper, travel trailer, and their 5th Wheel. She also loved the ocean, roses and gambling. Gloria also loved sewing and was an amazing seamstress making clothes for many of the children and grandchildren for special events. She also made clothing sets for the grand children to match their dolls.
Gloria always wanted to divert attention away from her and direct it onto others. She always had words of encouragement and she truly loved spending time with her family. Glori's family and friends will dearly miss her!
