On Saturday June 4, 2022, Frank Talamantez Jr. passed away peacefully in his home as he wished and prayed for, surrounded loving family and friends. Frank was born and raised the small town of Brackettville, Texas, January 18.1930. He was the first born of 11 children. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank, and Della Talamantez, and five siblings, Rueben Talamantez, Glenda Saldana, Abraham Talamantez, David Talamantez, and Joe Talamantez.
Frank was the loving father to four surviving children, Anthony (Tony) Talamantez, Theodore (Ted) Talamantez, Bernadette Cannavino, and Anna Talamantez, and his surviving siblings Patrick Talamantez, Chester Talamantez, Linda Talamantez, Kathy Talamantez, and Steve Talamantez.
Growing up, Frank loved and studied alongside of his grandfather and mentor Joe who owned a market and had a natural act of cutting meat of which he shared with Frank. Frank joined the United States Marine Corps at the young age of 17, and after leaving the service, he found love in Denver, Colorado remaining here to live and establish his professional trade as a meat cutter for Safeway Grocery Stores, retiring after nearly 40 years of dedicated service. Following retirement from Safeway, he studied to become a certified massage therapist, opening his own business, and growing a faithful following of clients until his late his late 80s, bringing much healing and joy to many the people he helped with his strong soft caring hands, essential oils, and words of wisdom that he loved to share. Frank was blessed to know and be loved by so many wonderful friends he acquired along his long and full life journey. Frank had a strong faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church. He loved his family, friends, and church family at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. We were all blessed with Franks presence and gift to our lives in our own way, leaving something special in each of us, something that will last a lifetime.
