Erlinda is preceded in death by her Son Manuel and Mary Chavez, Ernie Giron (Son in Law), brothers and Sisters, Jimmy and Helen Trujillo, Pauline and Pete Toribio, brothers Marcos and George Garcia; Grandson Michael Tagert.
One of her fondest memories was growing up in Terreros New Mexico, where her mom and dad worked in the silver and precious metal mines. Throughout her life she traveled extensively to Mexico, Brazil, Honduras, France, Israel (Jerusalem), Alaskan cruise, several trips to Hawaii, and coast to coast!
She was a lifelong devout Catholic. She belonged to the Women’s Auxiliary at Our Lady of Guadalupe where she acquired numerous church friends.
She worked at St, Mary Corwin Hospital, as a Unit Clerk for many years. Also, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, as well as several medical offices in the Denver Area. She spoke fluent Spanish and was a valued employee and volunteer interpreter whenever she was needed.
With the urging of her daughter, Norma, she earned her GED at the age of 73, and was employed at Fairview Elementary. All her children graduated from Pueblo Central High School and she always claimed to be a Pueblo Central Wildcat! She was an excellent cook and an expert in tamale making!
Erlinda was a very caring and loving mother to her children, her siblings, her grandchildren, her extended family of cousins, friends and neighbors. She made friends everywhere! She had a very sharp sense of humor, a predictable stubborn and independent streak and loved to dance!
By her request only bright colors of apparel should be worn to her services and she preferred live plants in lieu of flowers.
Our Lord received another beautiful Angel, her unquenchable spirit will be sorely missed!
