She was born on
June 15, 1919 in Detroit,
Michigan to Angelo and
Josephine Alfonsi and had 3 sisters and 2
brothers. Vi married Thomas E. Ricca on July
9, 1938 in Detroit and was happily married
to him for 55 years until he died in February,
1994.
She is survivded by her loving son, Thomas
D. Ricca and his wife Ronnie, and her devoted
daughter, Dr. Lynne Studebaker and
her husband John. She was proud of all of
her grandchildren, one granddaughter and
7 grandsons, and her 20 greatgrandchildren.
Vi payed the piano and organ all of her life
and often gave concerts in the apartments
and centers where she lived until just weeks
before she died.
Mass will be held at Crown Hill Mortuary, at
3pm on Saturday, January 30, and a gathering
of family and friends immediately following
the service. A visitation and gathering
will also be held from 5-7pm on Friday,
