Ellen J. Sapp, 93, passed away at 9:00 AM on Saturday September 17, 2022. Born Ellen Juanita Wassen in Denver on July 17, 1929, she was a proud Colorado native. Ellen was the daughter of Olof Frederick Wassen and Emma Josephine (Gustafson) Wassen, and had two sisters: Ruth Virginia Whalen and Evelyn Elizabeth O'Keefe. After graduating from West High School in 1947, she worked as an insurance adjuster at the Maryland Casualty Company. In 1954 she married John Theodore Sapp with whom she had two sons and remained happily married until John's death in 2007.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Alan Sapp (b. 1956) and Bruce L. Sapp (b. 1959) as well as many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Crown Hill in Wheatridge.
A visitation for Ellen will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
Her Funeral will be Friday September 30 at 2 p.m. followed by the burial ceremony.
