Liz was born August 14, 1936 in Honolulu, Hawaii to William C. Pollock M.D. and Catherine Pollock. Liz had a brother, William C. Pollock, Jr. (deceased). Being raised a military brat; she attended 23 different schools before graduating from East High School in Denver. She attended Colorado A and M (now Colorado State University) where she was a Theta and met her husband (Jack). Liz and John M. “Jack” Willis were married on December 28, 1956. She was a pre- school teacher with the Jefferson County Public Schools. She was a member of the Wheat Ridge Fire Board, Wheat Ridge Rotary, and P.E.O organization for women. She was a Befriender at Covenant Living. She attended Faith Bible Chapel, was a member of the choir, WAGS, and Women of the Word Bible study group.
Liz had 5 daughters, Mary Ann Littler (Dave), Sue Willis, Dianne Kampman (Bruce), Jo Ann Blauer (Steve), Virginia “ Genna “ Willis-Molnar, and daughter in kind, Megan Pischke. She had 7 grandchildren, Greg Littler (Michele) , Danny Littler , Cole Mondragon (Jo Ann) , Rachelanne Craner (Nathan) , Stefan Hackethal (fiancé Claudia) , Christopher Shine and Kaci Molnar. She had 7 great grand- children, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Liz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a strong faith, love for God, and a kind and compassionate spirit.
She was known for her quick wit, infectious laugh and the ability to talk to anyone. She loved to laugh and was a great story teller. She told many a story about her husband, children, her life adventures etc., and she enjoyed making others laugh about them too.
Liz loved people and many referred to her as “Gran”. Her husband Jack, was the Wheat Ridge Fire Chief for many years, as a result, she had a love for anything to do with firefighting. She developed a hobby of creating scrap books for The Wheat Ridge Fire Department that included photos, newspaper clippings and firehouse activities.
All those that knew her were fully blessed to have her in their lives. Please continue to pass on her stories or share stories about her so that her memory can live on. She was a wonderful woman that was truly loved and will be missed.
Funeral service will be February 9, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Bible Chapel, 6250 Wright Street, Arvada, Colorado with a visitation beginning at 11:30. A reception will be held from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. at Smith Hall of Covenant Living of Colorado, 9153 Yarrow Street, Westminster, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Fallen Firefighters of Colorado, American Diabetes Association of Colorado, or Humane Society of Colorado.
