Betty Ann Gardner passed away on December 24 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born September 10, 1943 in San Francisco, she was a proud alumna of Sarah Dix Hamlin School for Girls in San Francisco. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and her Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. In graduate school, she met her future husband Rick, with whom she subsequently enjoyed a 50-year marriage. They lived in Pueblo for 20 years, moving to Denver in 1991. In Denver, she earned her Juris Doctorate in Law at the University of Denver. Her professions included social worker, adjunct professor of psychology, elementary school counselor, and attorney. Betty Ann was also active in several community organizations including the Junior League of Pueblo.
The great love between her and Rick was apparent to all who knew them as well as to many passing strangers. Hers was a life so beautifully lived, and a heart so deeply loved. Sic transit Gloria mundi.
Survived by her children Michael in Bayfield, Colorado and daughter Lisa in Denver. Also survived by her brother Lance Miller in Cascade, Idaho and her sister Patricia Miller in Carson City, Nevada. Betty Ann's Celebration of Life will be at 11:00am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Olinger Crown Hill, Pavilion of Reflection. Donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
