Doris I. “Dodie” Meyers, age 84, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2018 surrounded by her family. Dodie was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1933 to Ora Eldwin and Ethel Irene Coslett (nee Akler.) She graduated from Wichita East High School and attended St. Mary of the Plains College. As the office administrator for the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office until her retirement, Dodie spent her free time skiing, golfing and playing bridge. Always up for an adventure, Dodie traveled cross-country by motorcycle with Tom visiting parks and historical sites and even surprised some by bungie jumping in her 70’s. Despite her adventurous spirit, Dodie also crafted a warm and inviting home. She was a masterful hostess, creating many memorable holiday celebrations for her entire family filled with love, laughter and plenty of cookies.
She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend who leaves a legacy of intellect, generosity and beautiful traditions. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 64 years Thomas A. Meyers; children: Trey (Debbie) Meyers, Marc (Peggy) Meyers and Cole (Teddy) Meyers; grandchildren: Nathan and Luke Meyers, Karen Loughlin and Ben Meyers; great grandchildren: Lakoda, Julian and Sean; brothers: Fred Coslett and Bob Coslett and sister Patsy Arnold. Dodie was preceded in death by her brother Johnny Coslett and son Kurt Meyers.
