Doris was born April 8, 1932 to Peter & Daisy Marinelli (Wahl). She also had a brother Leonard (Bubba), born in 1933. She is preceded in death by both her parents, her brother and three children. She is survived by her children, Chris (Nels), his wife Pam, Lane (Laneard), his wife Kaelynne, Renée, her husband Sam, Jennifer (Jenni), her husband Steve, along with 16 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Doris worked beside her parents on the ranch in Colorado, graduated high school, then she left for college and began a long career in nursing as an RN. Was married, then divorced raising four children as a single mom. In 1980 at the age of 50, she graduated and obtained a BSN degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
She was active in her church, local food bank, was an advocate for orphans through the Zimbabwe partnership, and was the president of the Northglenn Ambulance.
Doris was a mother, caregiver, provider, friend to many, volunteer, leader and gave from the heart in everything she did. Above all, her love, strength, and tenacity made her a woman deeply loved by all.
In lieu of flowers, Doris’ family is asking for donations to the Zimbabwe Mission Partnership.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at Westminster Presbyterian Church – 3990 W 74th Ave. Westminster, CO. 80030
Graveside services will take place at Fairmount Cemetery 430 S Quebec St. Denver, CO following a brief reception at church.
