He was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army. He found his love for Harley's while stationed in Germany, he even got his first harley tattoo while there before owning his Harley. He was honorably discharged and when got home he bought his Harley, he has had that same bike since 1977. He became a cook and mechanic after coming home. In the 80's he began working at Henderson Mine as a miner and worked there for many years. Afterwhich he was a heavy equipment mechanic for many years as well. Through both of these careers he made many friends whom he worked with for many years.
In 1990 he met the love of his life Karen. They were married on March 28th of 1992, 3500 feet below ground at Henderson Mine. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, nephew, brother, uncle and friend. Among his love for his Harley and riding it, he loved building and flying rc airplanes, and collecting his guns and knifes. He could always be found tinkering in his garage, he loved his garage and all of his tools. We considered him OUR jack of all trades. Duke and Karen always had a saying, "You And Me Will Always Be" and it was true until the very end.
