Donald was born in Boulder, CO to Lale L. and Ethel Harmon. His family lived in Boulder, Nederland, Denver, Daniels Gardens (Lakewood), Palisade and Rifle. He was one of 7 children; five boys and two girls.He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Don grew up in Dad's mine in Rifle, going to school and picking vegetables and fruit. He joined the Army with the 4th Field Artillary Mule Pack in 1954 for 3 years. He was stationed at Fort Carson during the Korean War. During the winter, they would hike to Camp Hale near Leadville, staying all winter and then hiking back to Fort Carson. His last few months he was stationed at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin before being discharged.
He married Joann K. Flanders on July 10, 1955. They raised three sons, Tim (Tracy), Terry (Kelley) and Kevin (Sharon). They had 6 grandchildren, Veronica, Victoria, Alexandra, Austin, Kaylynn and Ashalee and one great-grandson, Patrick.
Don was a General Contractor for 45 years in the Denver area from 1981-2001. He and Joann raised and raced quarter horses. In 2001, they sold the horses and property. They traveled for 1 1/2 years and settled in Clilfton, Colorado where they lived until 2011 when they returned to the Erie area.

Don was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather! He was tenderhearted and loved all animals and babies! He will be missed by all!
