It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing on July 12, 2023 of husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, Dennis Bolz (age 80). Dennis was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He proudly served in the US Navy before returning to Colorado where in 1969, he met the love of his life Sandy Bolz.
Dennis graduated from Colorado State University (1970) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, before he and Sandy moved to Fairbanks, AK. where they would spend the next 49 years raising a family, and living life to the fullest.
Dennis enjoyed the outdoors and connecting with people immensely. He was always willing to try something new and adventurous. Dennis had a passion for soccer and shared that passion by coaching competitively. He was an active member of Wilderness Search and Rescue, and he was an elder at Zion Lutheran Church.
Over the years, Dennis and Sandy were foster parents to many children, giving their time, devotion, and love to children that had no home, and no family to call their own.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sandy Bolz of Denver, CO; son, Michael (Danielle) Bolz of Casa Grande, AZ; daughter, Erin (Gary) Bryskiewicz of Castle Rock, CO; and his grandsons whom he loved dearly, Conor and Liam Bolz.
“ for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.” - Romans 14:8
In honor of Dennis, a memorial gift may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
