David Alan Safe

David Alan Safe born on April 8, 1970 in Denver, CO peacefully passed away on November 17, 2022. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Marcie Safe, two adoring sons, Cole(16) and Joel(14). He is also survived by his mother, Elaine Safe, his brother, Scott Safe(Cindy) and his sister, Mindy Knutson(Scott) and nieces and nephews, Richelle Safe(Mark Fertelmeister),Paige Saber(Dan), Connor Knutson, Karlie Knutson and great niece, Ivy Saber. Dave is also survived by his mother in law, Marian Martin, brother in law, Daryl Martin and sister in law, Sharon Martin(Bob McCoy).Dave is preceded in death by his father, Paul Safe, brother, Brian Safe, father in law, Sam Martin, and brother in law, Jimmy Safe. Dave graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and Colorado State University. He studied political science and minored in Spanish. He went on to a 30 year career in law enforcement, spending most of his years with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. While there, Dave worked in many different departments, Recruiting and Training, Firearms, Special Housing Unit, Booking, Property Room, Jail, Patrol and Peer Support. Dave retired from Jeffco Sheriff’s Office in 2020 and was just beginning his golden years. Dave was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, hunt, shoot guns, teach others to shoot guns, ATV, hike, bike, ski and walk Gunner. Dave also loved art and music and making jewelry. He spent the last 6 years learning how to metalsmith and make custom jewelry with stone settings. Dave’s most favorite activity was being a dad to Cole and Joel and a husband to Marcie. He was the most involved and committed husband and father. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He touched many lives because he was a servant of God.
