Dana Elaine Baker was born on June 27, 1959, in Glendale, California, and was brought to Colorado by her parents early in her life. She spent the rest of her days here in the purple mountain majesty of Bailey, Colorado. Dana Passed away on October 12, 2022 the age of 63 after a year long battle with cancer.
Dana met her husband, John Baker, in 1980 in Lakewood, Colorado, where she worked as a local bank teller. John was a single father who was raising his beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed baby girl, Charlotte, on his own after his previous wife passed away. Dana took John’s breath away with her big brown eyes and long blue-font black hair. John and Dana married in 1982. On that day Dana officially became “Mommy” to Charlotte. Just a short time later, in 1984 Dana blessed us with her second daughter, Crystal, donning brown hair and brown eyes. Then in 1987, Dana completed the trifecta and gave life one last time to her “tricky” blonde-haired, brown-eyed daughter Corene and their family was finally complete.
Dana spent most of her adult life as a home-maker, raising her daughters and taking care of their home. She worked very hard to make a warm, loving and beautiful home for her family; and in 1995, she took on the challenge of homeschooling her daughters until each of them graduated.
Dana pursued several avenues to find the path she was meant to take to continue her own life and passions after her daughters had grown. This path ultimately led to her graduation from the Colorado School of Healing Arts in 2019 where she became a massage therapist. Dana loved helping people heal and being a part of the recovery that brought them peace. She had a special soothing way with her words and touch that could make someone feel all the tension in their body float away as she worked out the tired and sore muscles that had been damaged by some type of incident.
Dana spent much of her time studying alternative medicine in healing with essential oils, all-natural vitamins, and homeopathic alternatives. The time she spent researching and learning the uses of these oils and vitamins assisted her with massage therapy and with her everyday life. She was able to help her family and friends; and it was one of her many ways of contributing to this world.
Dana was a phenomenal child of Christ, and her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Dana’s study of the Word, her love, and her passion for Christ brought her through many trials and tribulations. She was blessed with the love of the Lord and did her best to walk in the ways of Him, encouraging others to do so as well and blessed the people she met with Christ’s love.
Dana contributed to many lives through her ladies’ bible studies and luncheons with friends that only ended because she was too weak to attend. She passionately loved her group of friends and treasured the time they spent, strengthening their fellowship and bonding through their worship of the Lord.
Dana loved her husband John, her daughters, and all of her family and friends with a fierce and unyielding passion. This love was abundantly clear when she invited her sons into her family and heart. Miah in 2002, Kyle in 2006, and C.J. in 2019 when they married into the family. That, however, was just the beginning. In 2005 with the birth of her oldest grandson, Kolton, she discovered a whole new love; the love of a grandmother for her grandchildren. This love is an indescribable love, it has to be felt or witnessed. And it continued to grow with the birth of her grandson, Aden in 2006, then a double dose in 2007 with the birth of two more grandsons, Keaton and Ethan. And just for good measure, it grew once more with the birth of her last grandson, Dregan, in 2012. Dana loved these five boys more than anything in this whole world.
