Colleen was born to Mildred and Roy Epperson in Kersey, CO. and moved with her family to the Baker neighborhood of Denver where she spent most of her childhood. She graduated from West High School in Denver and raised three children. In 1980 she married her true love Tom and became a mother to his five kids as well. She and Tom were also foster parents at this time. When she was in her fifties she went to college and got a degree in interior design which she used at Ethan Allen until her retirement.
She loved Jesus, her family, her friends, her church, her bible study groups, interior design and she took great joy in helping others. She sponsored several under privileged children from around the world, was active in her church outreach and supported many charities. She had a great sense of humor, loved telling jokes, playing and teaching piano, dancing, and could light up a room. She also loved wine and popcorn. She was a giving and loving person and will be missed dearly by so many. Just like her father, she was a “Little Giant”.
Colleen was preceded in death by her mom, dad and her beloved husband Tom.
She is survived by friend George Garbarini, daughter Shelly Unger (Montoya) (Ron Unger), sons Steve Squires (Christine) and Rob Squires (Penny Holt), stepdaughters Sherry Spicer (Tim), Jeannie Murray, Karen McCune (Scott), and Christy Copeland (Phil), grandchildren Corey Squires, Cara Squires, Clayton Herrman, Alyssa Menten (Stuart), Taylor and Tara Spicer, Grace McCune, Skylar and Sterling Copeland, and great grandson Levi.
