Chad Nicholas Delaney Dickson
July 12, 1980 – January 19, 2017
Chad Nicholas Delaney Dickson, 36, passed away January 19, 2017 in Denver, CO. He was born on July 12, 1980 in Ozark, AL to his parents, Nolan Stuart and Linda Dickson, weighing in at a mighty 12 pounds.
Chad graduated from Sand Creek High School in Colorado Springs in 1999 before spending one year having a great time at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He transferred to The Art Institute of Colorado where he received a BA degree in Interactive Media Design in 2005. A talented artist and creator, Chad spent 11 successful years in advertising at LRXD and its predecessor companies LeeReedy and Xylem Digital, serving in a variety of roles from Interactive Designer to Art Director to Associate Creative Director.
Chad was a beautiful soul. He was a generous and loyal friend with a quick sense of humor and an unforgiving wit. He worked hard and played hard. Among his many interests, he enjoyed hiking the Colorado Rockies (including many fourteeners), traveling, and spending time with friends. He enjoyed a good party. He was the best brother, uncle and son anyone could ask for.
He loved his mom and was devastated by her loss in 2012. Chad is survived by his father, Stuart Dickson; two sisters, Stacey Hayes and Shelley Dickson; brother-in-law, John Hayes; niece, Kelsey Dickson; three nephews, Bryan Dickson and Christian and Austin Hayes; a cherished dog, Kiara; and countless friends.
A remembrance celebration of Chad’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 28 at Galvanize Denver – Golden Triangle, 1062 Delaware Street, Denver, CO 80204.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Chad’s name to Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Messages to the family can be sent to staceyjhayes@yahoo.com.
