Catherine Frances Ridenour

Catherine ”Francie” Ridenour left her service to Jesus on earth to be with Him in Heaven on October 9, 2022. She often talked about the joy of seeing Jesus, her beloved husband Cliff, her sister “Mike” and her parents on this joyous day.

Cathy was born on June 25, 1941. She worked many years as a banker, however toward the end of her career she was an accountant with Promise Keepers, a ministry dedicated to developing men of integrity who fulfill their roles as godly husbands, fathers, and leaders. She was passionate about serving the Lord in this role and maintained friendships from Promise Keepers for many years. Cathy’s favorite way to spend her time was with her family and friends. Sitting around the table with Cathy and Cliff talking and laughing is a common and cherished memory for the people in her life. Her hobbies also included crocheting, reading, coloring, crafting and traveling. For many years, Cathy had a “scarf ministry” to cover others in prayer and encouragement. Later, when she was homebound, she began a prayer ministry with other women to continue serving others and the Lord.

Cathy was known for her quick-witted humor, feisty personality, and her love of dogs, friends and family. She was a generous, kind-hearted, and amazing woman of God and always a fun person you could count on to listen, cheer you up and make you laugh. She dedicated herself in prayer for so many people and always "loved you more." She is irreplaceable!

One of her life verses was 2 Corinthians 12:9-10:

The Lord said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you; my power is made perfect in weakness.” For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Cathy’s was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clifford; and sister, Marguerite “Mike.” Cathy is survived by her brother-in-law, Glen; his brother, Dennis; her two nephews and their families: Rob & wife, Michele with Jordyn & fiancé, Kyle, and Sydney; Dan & wife, Crystal with Grace, and Isabella; her four stepchildren: Randy & wife, Marlyse, with Shon (wife Tania), and Madi; Cynthia with Jodi, Susan (Allonah, Shealey) and Adam; Marsha & husband Reggie, with Matt (wife Leigh) and Cody (wife Kim); Sherri & husband Alan, with Nicole (husband Andrew) and Shane (wife Bryanna); as well as 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2022, 1-2pm with funeral service to follow at 2pm. Graveside service will follow at 3pm. All services will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. The family asks that you please wear a fun shirt in Cathy's honor.
