So many memories of Carol-
Her big smile that welcomed me into her life!  We shared stories about everything!  We walked the shores of Lake Michigan - No sharks!  Climbed the Dunes!  Snorkeled in the keys and celebrated Woodstock!  We had bonfires on the beach and couldn't make it back up the Dune Home?!!  We laughed until our bellies hurt every time we were together.  I know that the memories of Carol will always be with me in my heart.

One of the first times I was at the house, Rob and Steven decided to show me the rope swing.  Moments later I'm hanging upside down with my foot stuck in the rope and head under water.  Through the water, I hear Carol yelling bloody murder at Rob and Steven for almost drowning her grandson, aka me.  

I remember when me and my sister slept at her house.  Her and Jeanie would ask us if we want a cat hair sandwich and we would get confused if it had real cat hair in it.

My beautiful Montana girl - ah, the memories and the craziness and the love!!

Carol and Jeff and Laurie and Dirk - Mother's Day brunch at Red Rocks.  She could just shine when she was happy. She made us feel like we knew her forever.  Matches like Carol and Jeff are very rare gifts and they made the most of it.  So Carol, we love you and we will be there for Jeff and family and that's a promise.

Note to the family: Carol always talked about her family (children, grandchildren) everyone!  Your mom loves you all dearly and you are so lucky to have such a great mom.  She's the best.  

All the times we went to Lion's park in Golden and all the trips and vacations.  Just those simple memories are all the good ones.  

I had the pleasure of meeting Carol and Jeff in 2008 when we visited Colorado a great time was had by all.  Carol was a part of Sisterhood I was just entering  (spouses of a group of lifelong friends) and made me feel so very welcome.  Over the years we were lucky to meet up several times.  We made so many memories  from the poison ivy in Michigan  to the pub crawl in Key West. I will cherish our memories of this remarkable woman who was always  smiling.

When I go to my garden I will always think of Carol. The mountains and the meadows are where we travel together. I met her at the Lake, where her spirit will visit me often. For what is death; but the parting of the Soul from the beautiful body she left behind and stand naked in the mountain wind and melt into the Sun. I will see you often in the morning dew and  hear you in the Cardinals song.see you then my dear Friend 

We met Carol and Jeff through dear friends of ours and it took no time at all for the Lane's to become dear to us.  We shared good times together but the one time that I'll hold in my heart forever was a perfect summer night at the Lane's in their gorgeous backyard where Carol spent to much of her time.  That particular evening she walked us through their garden explaining what they had learned to grow to perfection and how they would move the plants year after year.  Carol you are forever our favorite gardener, the delight of every gathering and will be a blooming flower forever preserved in our hearts.

So glad to have met this lady.  She was so full of life and energy.  She had a great heart and was fun to be with.  Thoughts and prayers with the family.

Carol was a free spirit who dearly loved her life, family, and friends. She was a valued friend who held a special place in our hearts. We cherish each moment we had with Carol and her beloved Jeff. She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Love you, Carol. 

When I think of Carol, I think of the loving way that she would talk about her kids, grandkids and her husband Jeff.  I will always remember  Carol's  smile and love for life.  Carol and Jeff, have been great friends since we met them.  
Bringing many smiles and laughter. 

Carol was a great friend to my wife in time of need when we were moving.  Always being available for my wife.  We all had some great discussions and enjoyable times over the years.   Thank you  Carol.

We met Carol and Jeff at church around 2005. Carol was a part of our greeters ministry. We became very close friends. Our church closed and we didn't stay in touch for  quit awhile.. In 2011 I found myself overwhelmed and unable to function. I prayed for help  and God brought Carol to mind. I hesitantly called her and explained what I needed, would she be willing to help. Carol showed up the next day and for weeks after to help me get through to the end. Carol was my sister
 She was a true friend, she loved me and I loved her. I will miss you for awhile, untl we meet again. 

My husband (Tommy) and I, Jeff and Carol and Jack and Shirley (Jeff's and I's dad and his wife) all traveled to FL in 2013 to visit my aunt.   Tommy and I were fostering a sibling pair at the time and the boy (who was 3 at the time) had a hard time connecting with others due to past trauma and some symptoms of Autism.  Carol connected with him almost immediately and it was beautiful.  Carol was a special person and a joy to be around.  She will be missed more than words can express.  

How can I possibly describe our wonderful relationship in just a few words?  I will try to explain it in a short story.
 She came into my life like a whirlwind, with determination and love.  We were young and free-spirited, with similar, but different pasts.  Both of us with the desire for life, fun, and humor.  We met when I was 19, she was 23, we experienced a hurricane of wonderful escapades, friends, and parties.  We had a true friendship, it was more than that, we were soul mates. She held me tight and would not let me go from the day we met. 
 We took care of each other, and as life grew with jobs, men, and children, it came with never-ending support and love.  We escaped the bullet many times, only to laugh about how close we were to dire consequences.  Living like there was no tomorrow and enjoying every minute, with laughter.  Carol was strong-minded and determined.  She told me "One day, we will be old and doing what we've always done, together."
 Some of the places we experienced: the Dark Horse in Boulder, In the early days, we were two hotties dancing together, before it was a thing, and driving the boys crazy, Central City for old time pictures, Little Bear in Evergreen for dancing and live music, to name a few.
 Some of the people in our lives: Rich Sapp (Fat Belly Rich) who was with us through almost every adventure, Duffy the bartender (the Dark Horse) with upside-down margaritas, and would play our favorite music by request.
When Steven was born, I was in the hospital with them.  Carol offered for me to hold him, I said, “I can’t, I’ll break him.”, but I did, and he was so precious.
 After she had Kelly, Carol said “This is the best thing in the world, you have to do this.  I said, “I can’t, I’m not married.”
 Carol went to a KOOL concert, and told me the next day, being all twitterpated about meeting this wonderful guy.  That guy was Jeffery.  She married him and blended their lives together.  She will be in our hearts forever.

My auntie was such a special person. I'm going to miss all our funny texts, random little cards and presents we sent each other for special occasions...just miss HER! She fought a brave fight. We all have a beautiful angel watching over us. 

Jeff and family. I hold you all in my heart and will be with you in spirit as we say goodbye to our beloved Carol.        Carol, Sissie #4- I  miss you you every day. I wanted to spend more time with you having coffee, visiting, walking Nikko, and sharing our memories. I imagine your reunion with Mom, Jeanie, Stephen, our Grandparents, aunts and uncles. I rejoice knowing that you have shed your mortal coil and are free from pain and suffering.       Rest in Love                                                                                       

Carol enjoyed the annual friends 4th of July events…just chilling & grilling…and always dressed the part!!!
