Robert, known by family and friends as "Bob", was born on Wednesday, April 13th, 1938 to Chelotte Otto in northwest Denver, where he also grew up. He used to ride th street car to and from school and to get to family and friends homes. His best friend growing up was George Wilaver. He went to Swink for grammer school, then to Skinner Jr. High and then on to North High School where he graduated. When he graduated from North High his mom said Howlalgh, where he went into the Navy and served on the USS Intrepid to see the world as well as help other people and keep them safe. He left the Navy after he served and started working at Denver Public Schools. While working at a high school to get it ready he met his love Susan - and it was fireworks. They were married and had two children and moved to southwest Denver to raise his family. Bob was never a talker or a sitter - he was a giver and a doer. He liked to give back and help others in need. He also had followed his dad into the Masonic Order was he rose to 3rd degree and became the master of the lodge #93 of south Denver, as well as becoming a 33rd degree in the Denver Consistory. As being somone who likes to give back he went into the Shrine and became Bobo the Clown where he would help children at the Children's Hospital to put a smile on a child's face or just make the Doctor's and Nurses smile and laugh. He had a saying: Life is like a road map enjoy the side roads and stay off the highway. In other words, enjoy life and all of its wonders.
There are so many things that Bob has done. He was married to Susan for 51 years. He helped raise his son and his daughter He also helped his wife with day care children and their home where he treated them as his own. Bob never let someone out - he would sit and talk, listen and give comfort when he could. He was also a Deacon at St. Phillips and St. James in southwest Denver.
What Bob loved to do... the best thing was being married to Susan for 51 wonderful years. Fishing the Platte and the Pouder rivers. Bob is survived by his wife Susan, son Bob Jr., daughter Diana, sister Judy, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Bob was and will always be a father, husband, friend, lover and a hero.
And remember - when life gives you a detour, enjoy the side roads of life.
