Dr. Barbara Jane Wilkin, aged 79, residing in Lakewood, Colorado, passed away on August 31, 2022 from Lymphoma. Born on December 5, 1942 in Portland, Oregon, Barbara grew up in Idaho and graduated from The College of Idaho in 1961. She moved to Denver to attend the University of Colorado's Health Sciences Center and earned her Master's and Ph.D. in Biology in 1969 and 1973, respectively. She taught science at Beth Jacob High School throughout graduate school. Barbara accepted a position as a life sciences professor at Rockmont College, which later became Colorado Christian University, in 1974. She taught at CCU for a total of 38 years. She married William Edward Wilkin in 1976 and they had two children. She was widowed in 1990. Barbara was a kind and generous person, often knitting for charity, and was awarded Professor Emeritus at CCU in 2021.
She is survived by her daughter, Jaynie Kuberry, grandchildren Alex and Lily Kuberry and her son, Bill Wilkin and daughter-in-law Judith Wilkin.
Services will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00p.m.
