Ms. Audrey Glee Kroeger

Audrey was born on June 2, 1932, in Rippey, IA. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin F. Kroeger, her parents, Mahlon and Thelma Rhoades and brothers Darrel, Delmer and Dwight Rhoades. She is survived by her son Kevin Kroeger, her daughters Kelly Dickson (Paul), Kimberly Kroeger (Jeff Gulka), Kathleen DiSabato (Matt) and her grandchildren Kathryn Michels (Rob), Katherine Brinkman (Eric), John Dickson (Kayla), Katherine Brinkman (Eric), Jack DiSabato, Sydney DiSabato and Great Grandchildren Brooks Dickson and Benjamin Brinkman.

Growing up on a farm in Iowa, she attended nearby Scranton High School. After graduation, she moved to Omaha and went to Commercial Extension School of Commerce for secretarial training. Soon after graduating, she got a job at Merchants Biscuit (Keebler) where she met her husband, Mel Kroeger, from Omaha, NE. They were married on June 14, 1953, and celebrated 66 years together before Mel passed away in 2019.

While living in Golden, Audrey raised four children but also ran their business, Wig Magic. She later worked for the House Majority office at the Colorado State Capitol. She enjoyed music including playing the piano and organ, but ultimately her time was spent raising kids, traveling and spending time with friends at the lake. She also enjoyed watching the Broncos with a bowl of popcorn.

Audrey’s later years were spent caring for Mel and spending time with her family. She celebrated her 90th birthday at a family reunion in Pigeon Forge, TN. She aged gracefully and was loved by many. She passed away on March 8, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Audrey’s family finds peace in knowing that she is walking with her Lord and Savior and is reunited with loved ones.

A funeral service for Audrey will be held service will held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Peace Lutheran, 5675 Field St, Arvada, CO 80002 with a luncheon to follow. Burial will follow at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery at 1:30.
