Amy Ruth Peters, 54, of Edgewater, Colorado, died on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital surrounded by family. Amy was born on May 11th, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Hospital to the late Gerald (Jerry) and Margaret (Peg) Peters of Lakewood, Colorado. Amy was also predeceased by her younger sister Polly Wagner of Evans, Colorado.
Amy is survived by her daughter Amanda Margaret Peters, her grandchild Nevaeh Amay Hall; and her sisters Sara Sawyer, Jenny (PJ) Peters, and Mia Barry.
Amy was a hard worker who had a loving and kind heart. She found happiness in the great outdoors, especially when camping and fishing. She absolutely loved her family and would listen to the same jokes over and over… still laughing as if hearing them for the first time! Amy felt empathy for all things; she was very emotional which was quite endearing when she would cry over an ASPCA commercial. Amy could have been the unofficial spokesperson for the food industry; she took her time to enjoy every morsel! (Seriously it took her forever to eat, that’s probably why she liked late night television.)
Amy loved rock and roll music; her favorite band was Led Zeppelin. She loved listening to stories, sunsets, jewelry, art, Red Lobster, animals, and most of all… cats!
Following her wishes there will not be a funeral service. A private family memorial and feast will be held March 25th, 2018. Please contact Jenny Peters (303-946-8701) for more information. In lieu of flowers, please consider registering to become an organ and tissue donor or making a financial contribution to the Donor Alliance in memory of Amy.
“Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited. It is never rude and never seeks its own advantage; it does not take offence or store up grievances. Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in truth. It is always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love never comes to an end.”
I Corinthians 13;4-8
