Richard began his long love for wood at an early age working at the Lewis Sawmill in Weymouth. He then moved on to Custom Wood working, which later became Lewis Mouldings. This is where he became Head Moulder Technician, designing and maintaining all the many knives and profiles for various mouldings. Richard loved to make custom wood projects that ranges from full custom kitchens to home furniture and more in his spare time and retirement. He loved his shop and could often be found showing off his newest tools. When he wasn’t working hard in his shop, Richard enjoyed spending his spare time listening to music and dancing to music with his family and friends. Richard also looked forward to his Friday night and Boxing Day card games!
To some he was known as Richard but to others he was Grampy and Great Grampy and his love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren was always evident. He loved spending time with them whenever he had the chance. In fact he always had a video camera in his hand ready to capture moments with his grandchildren. Richard could always be seen with a smile on his face and a laugh that could be heard a mile away. He will truly be missed by all who loved him.
The family will be having A Celebration of Richard’s Life at 2pm Saturday, Oct. 15 2022 from the Church of Christ , Weymouth. Mr. Stewart Lewis will officiate.
