Raymond was an outdoorsman and a family man. He liked to spend his time out in nature: hunting, fishing and camping, all activities that he enjoyed sharing with his family. He married the love of his life, Carol, and they shared 61 years with each other. Together they had five children whom he adored. Once he became a grandfather, he absolutely loved spending time with his grandchildren, teasing them and joking with them often. He was a hard worker, learning his trade from his father and passing it on to his sons. Raymond was well-liked by anyone who had the chance to meet him. Later in life he still took the time to make wonderful memories with his family. After recovering from a cancer diagnosis he took a trip he’d always wanted too. He, his wife and their adult children rented an RV and took a two week road trip across the United States, visiting places like Niagara Falls, Louisiana and Nashville, where they were able to see the Grand Ole Opry. A trip that will always be cherished by his family. Raymond will be deeply missed by all, as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and a friend.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, John (Gisele) and Paul (Gena); daughters, Marlene (Alain) and Donna (Jody); brothers, Nelson and Walter; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Raymond is predeceased by his son, Harley and many siblings including; brothers, Angus, Norman, Alfred, Ivan, and Donald; sisters, Elizabeth, May, and Yvonne.
Donations in Raymond’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of Jaynes Funeral Home Weymouth, with a family service to be held at a later date.
