Parker was a member of Ashmore Baptist Church for over 80 years. Offices he held were church clerk, trustee, deacon, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and sang in the choir. Parker was also Chairman of the Board of Digby County Housing Authority and co-owned the business “Manzer Bros” for over 40 years, with his brothers, Fred and silent partner Scott.
Parker is survived by his daughter, Colleen (Gordon) Bragg; sons, Murray (Sharon) Manzer; Malcolm (Gail) Manzer; George (Helen) Manzer; Earle (Debbie) Manzer; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Thelma (Johnson) Manzer of 71 years; brothers, Byron, Ken, Donald, Bernard, Scott, Fred; sisters, Alda, Doris, Evelyn and Winnifred.
Visitation will be 7-9 on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Weymouth North. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from the Ashmore Baptist Church, Debbie Wetmore presiding with reception to follow. Burial in Riverside Cemetery.
