BRIGHT, Lloyd Silas Heaven has gained another angel while we have lost an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother uncle and good friend. Llyod age 83 passed away peacefully in Annapolis Community Health Centre, in the company of his two sisters on October 29th, 2020.
Lloyd was born on November 1st, 1936 in Southville Digby Co., NS to the late Lloyd Bright Sr. and Alvada (Cromwell) Bright. Though not well educated, Lloyd was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He worked at several jobs, including woods work, drove taxi and finally as a janitor at Weymouth Consolidated School for twenty-five years. He was well loved and respected by all who were lucky enough to know him. Lloyd loved to fish, hunt and he raised cattle, pigs, hens, goats and any other four-legged animal that needed to be loved. He was an avid card player, enjoyed bingo, dancing and going to jam sessions or just sitting in town with Shirley watching and talking to everyone who he came into contact with him. The passions in Lloyd’s life were Shirley, Robert and especially his two granddaughters. He loved his two great grandsons beyond words. They were the apples of his eyes. Lloyd was a long time member of the Southville Fire Department and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 67, Weymouth.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley (Ford) Bright, son; Robert (Sarah). granddaughters; Kassidy (Ben) Carpenter, Allana (Michael Boudreau) Bright. grandson; Tyler, also Randy (Tina) Cromwell who he raised like a son. Also left to mourn his passing are sisters; Volina (Earl) Cromwell, Linda (Fred) Bailey, Geneva (Danny) Cromwell, brothers; Glendon (Late Pat) Bright, Arnold (Wanda) Bright and Tiberius. In addition to mother in-law; Hazel (Anselm) LeBlanc, brothers in-law Bill Owen and Ken (Sylvia) Ford, Sisters in-law; Gloria, Carol (Greg), Eleanor (Irwin). Along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Alfreda (late Richard) Cromwell, Charlotte (Bill) Owen, Velda (late Victor) Francis ,brother Martin (Late Lola) Bright and brother in- law Donnie Ford.
Visitation for Lloyd will be held, 2-4 and 6-8 November 1 with prayers at 7 pm all from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Weymouth North. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on November 2 at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Southville. Burial to follow in St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Father Raymond officiating. There are no words to describe the care Lloyd received from Dr. Ken Buchholz, his team and the nurses/angels at the Annapolis Community Health Centre Palliative Care Unit. We will forever be grateful for these amazing people.
