Joyce Vivian Louanna Cromwell

Cromwell, Joyce Vivian Louanna (Hatfield) age 89 of Southville, Digby Co. passed away peacefully on Thursday October 16, 2014 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fall River, Mass. USA, she was a daughter of the late Katherine Diggs (Hatfield ) and Harry Thomas. Joyce and her parents moved to Canada when she was 3 weeks old and became a Canadian citizen in 1964. For over 40 years she received used clothing which she distributed throughout the community. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards such as crib and ski-boo. She also loved her music. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Southville. Surviving are her children Joyclyn (Pati) LeBlanc, Danvers; Edward ( Gladys) Cromwell, Danvers; Hartley (Annie) Cromwell, Southville; Brenda Cromwell, Richmond, Ont.; Marvin (Debbie) Cromwell, Carleen (Elie) Comeau, Southville; Coleen (Herbie) LeBlanc, Leduc, AB; Heather (Mike) Sauliner, Southville; sisters Theresa Akaka, Hawaii; Patricia Hecker, Boston, Mass.; Charlotte Rodrigiz, Rhode Island, brother Melvin Diggs, Fall River, Mass. USA; 28 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Warren Peter Cromwell, daughter Sandra Impraim, granddaughter Nicky Scott, grandson Jerry Cromwell and brother Emile Diggs. Visitation will be after 2pm Sunday from her residence in Southville. Funeral service will be 11am Monday from St Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Southville. Father Henry Smolenaars will officiate with burial in the Parish Cemetery. Donations in memory can be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation.
