Gavel, Cheryl Lynn, was born October 25, 1959, passed safely into the arms of Jesus on February 26, 2023 at home, surround by her lovely family. Cheryl brought a unique light into everyone's life with her energetic passionate personality. She loved her home and spending many hours using her artistic skills to create a beautiful environment. Her humming birds were a special delight. She loved to have company but hated to let them go. She spent 32 wonderful years with her loving husband Roger Gavel. Cheryl had many jobs in her working career. In these jobs she was known for giving “her all” in all things asked of her and making friends along the way. She worked at Allan Fisheries up until her diagnosis. She was thankful for everything and dearly loved her family and friends. Her Strength in life came from her strong love and understanding of the promise of Jesus Christ. Which gave her peace that passed all understanding in this final journey and gave her excitement for the trip that laid ahead.
Cheryl leaves behind her loving husband Roger Gavel, Hilltown; son Steven Harris (Lynn) Bear River; daughters Stephanie French (Richard) Cole Harbour; Amanda Stone (Nicky) Weymouth; grandchildren Skyler and Julie Harris Bear River; Brianna Stone Weymouth; brothers Danny, Centreville; David, Centreville; Scott, Bridgetown; Lock, Shelburne; Ronnie Sanford, Cole Harbour; Stoney Island; sisters Helen, Yarmouth; Lorraine, Stoney Island; Beverly, Shelburne, Ann, Ontario and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Lila, Yarmouth; chosen father Malcolm Sandford, brother Michael, and birth father Lewis Graham. Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who knew her, she was truly a beautiful soul.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday, March 6 from the Calvary Baptist Church, Plympton. And from where Funeral service will be 1pm March 7. Pastor Joey Ring will officiate with burial in the Southville Church of Christ Cemetery. Special Thanks to the VON and all the people who helped out during our journey.
